Blog #1 - It's Me. (Bio)
This is what I have to say.
I love to talk about my thoughts and Ideas because I believe that my ideas will one day change the
world. My name is Saed Abdulhadi a 16-year-old American. I have been in love
with technology ever since my first computer in 2004. I am fascinated by how different mechanics work and how
technology improves the lives of many. I am amazed at how companies like
Microsoft consider creating new categories and create new consumer technology
that is built even for professionals.
I care about the concept of doing more and doing what you
can’t. I even printed these sayings and stuck them on the ceiling of my bed room. So as soon as I wake up
in the morning that is what I see and that is what I work towards. It is not
about getting to some hypothetical finish line, rather make every day count.
Language has become vital in my life. It is very easy to
take it for granted, but it is used for everything, even computer programing requires
specific coding language to create with ones and zeros. I feel it is important to
understand language cultures as the culture with language is the only thing
that deciphers meaning, when I say, “let's
meet up in times square”. If I were to say that to someone on mars they would decipher
lilt meaning. You would need to explain time, what is a square and what is a meetup, the United States the immigration system.
It is a total mess yet it is something that a new Yorker will understand
without a missed beat.
It is safe to say that I have never felt excluded due to
language barriers. Being fluent in English and in Arabic and only living the
United States and the UAE I am yet to be impacted by language barriers, then I take
it for granted. I feel impacted during times of travel. It is easy to think English
is the universal language and for many things It is, but all over the world in
countries like Germany and Italy is rarely spoken nor understood, that makes me
get more creative with getting my message across.

Hi Saed, this is a fascinating insight into the role language plays in your life and how that can be applied to so many other concepts, like computer programming. You're very willing to share your thoughts and feelings and I think this will encourage you to keep developing your critical thinking skills during this two year course.
